CAS Scholasship Recipient Graduates From FSU - May 3, 2008

We are so very pleased and proud to announce the graduation of Mr. Sean Stork from FSU with a Bachelor of Music degree.  Sean has worked very hard and has focused his education on vocal performance and Opera in particular.

During his college career he has sung major roles in Falstaff, La Boehem, Pearl Fishers, The Mikado, the Magic Flute, Cosi fan tutte and the Barber of Seville to name just a few!  In addition to his opera roles, only a few of which are mentioned here, he has performed as featured soloist with the FSU Singers and Men's Chorus, and the FSU Concert Band.

He spends his "free" time co-directing and arranging music for a local barbershop chorus "The Capital Chordsmen" and also performing with his very own quartet the "PBQ".  This is but a small list of his accomplishments.  We cannot wait to see what the future will bring for Sean.  As of this writing he is planning to go on to graduate school.

It is truly a privilege to have played a small part in supporting this fine musician.  Sean has expressed his thankfulness to the CAS Scholarship program for assisting him with his educational goals.  We look forward to having him as a guest soloist in the future.

CAS Growth Continues

We are so pleased to report the continued growth of the CAS! There are now 41 singers and the orchestra has sprouted two new instruments! We now have Glen Law on trombone and Noah Purvis on saxophone added to our joyful noise!

As Artistic Director I am most proud of the addition of student musicians to the orchestra. There are now three! Louis Cheung, I Violin, Caitlin Reynolds, I Violin and Jessica Rushing, 2nd Violin.

Do you know a family who home school? Our orchestra and chorus is an excellent opportunity for additional music education and experience. Young musicians really learn what it takes to prepare and perform in live concerts. Please share your knowledge of CAS with the families you know. Invite them to attend with their children. There is no less expensive musical opportunity in Palm Coast than the CAS. I am looking forward to seeing you there!
